Howdy all

I'm Flash and I'm from WA. I went through many mini's when I was younger but haven't had one for twenty five years. Now the kids have grown up, I've bought myself a '62 850. It's kinda half done (half baked) and requires lots of work (everything that wasn't easy to do/cheap to do by the previous owner) but with the internet, it's going to be easier this century.

Originality be damned, this thing needs more power/brakes/seatbelts...

Welcome back to Mini-ing Mr Gordon....and make sure suspension and tyres are up to your more power/brakes/seatbelts mods 8)

Nope, what it really needs is decent wipers, a synchro box, and a bloody heater. A proper clutch would be nice and I'm sure I remember the magic wand being longer? PO has cleaned up the cosmetics but those oil leaks! Those are the first things that need sorting.

The boy-racer thing is long gone. If I wanted to go fast, I wouldn't have sold my VE SS Ute.

Flash is short for Flash Harry. A family nickname given to me as a fast-talking, teenage con-artist. "Like to buy a bicycle? How about one you already own?" I behave better these days but the nickname has stuck. My tribute to the great George Cole.

Ahhhhh the old Belles of St Trinians!

Welcome to the forum Mattie. Sound's like you have a history! I moved here myself in 2006 and am looking to get into racing. Probably starting in motorkhanas (australian version of autotest) to get a feel then see if i can somehow get into rallying. All the same hope you find this place useful. All very welcoming people.

Phil

Hi I'm Ben. I have been reading the board for about 2 years and bought a 78 Leyland Mini about 8 months ago. I didn't know a single thing about car engines or mechanics, but with the help of all the info on the board I have been having a blast getting her up and running. Unfortunately I have just got a company car and with study / work just don't have enough time to spend on her anymore - so I am selling her to a good home (hopefully).

Hoping to buy a rolling shell in the future and start from the ground up to really test myself - Love Mini's!

Hello to all you fellow mini enthusiasts, well its been a long time since I owned a mini (30 years  ).
You see I had one as my first car. Did my learning and got my licence in one. It was a genuine cooper s. Indigo blue and snow white roof, ahhhh the memories chasing toranas and geminis around my local area, not that im condoning being a hoon hehe.
Well I just picked up another one, a 67 deluxe which is currently being stripped and resprayed.Im doing a lot of the work myself. I have done a few cars before so it will be a lot of fun.
Andrew.

Hi, I'm peter.
I've got a '76 clubman van which I'm restoring at the moment. The body, paint seats are all sorted but everything else is in need of some tlc.
I'm sure I'll be asking many questions in the future.
