My tag line has already been mentioned. SWMBO complains about the space it occupies but begrudges the time I spend on it - 44 years and I still don't understand the woman I married

You mean to say? You are actually trying? to understand?

My wife is also my bank manager, I can't get away with jack, so I tell her everything I'm spending, she gives me a serve, but only in jest... I think!

don't you get the line "the cushions are useful! they look nice and we can sit on them!! not like your mini, it's just noisy and smelly"

what about "you don't need all of those old spare parts", and I reply "you don't need all of those handbags" - for some reason I never win....

My wife has no problem with maintenance costs of the cars and trailer. Upgrades are different. She and I have an agreement that any work we do outside our normal jobs are our own to use as we please. (as long as we are both currently working,we are freelance) This means I get to buy what I want pretty much when I want and she is the same. Plus her toys are just as expensive as mine. She's into photography... Glass is expensive.

I usually work by the policy that "its easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission", that and "what she doesn't know won't hurt me"

My wife is 3 years older than me - I bought her a $350 coffee machine for her 30th birthday, she bought me a $1000 welder for my 30th. Her 40th is coming up, she's getting an $1850 watch - it's a good upwards trend I reckon

Dammit, I'm at the stage now where I can't spend a thing!
Have one mini that isn't far off being finished and I just can't get it over the line
Have a 16 month old and another due in December so it's not looking good

But on the positive side the Mrs doesn't know what parts I already have so I can pass some new ones off as old ones...

Jesus what a thread mine!

My ex was... well, difficult. I couldnt do anything. Her theory was cars are an immature hobby that teenage boys dabble in, or retired old men. So i lied to her.

The new girl is awesome, but i also have the sentimental side to my project, and guilt and it noticably frustrates me. I also shout her treats and/or dinner/lunch most weekends.
im sure once we have a mortgage i will need to cut back. Until then i need to attain the expensive bits
