Nope, I'm not going blind. It really doesn't appear on my screen. Must be a platform incompatibility. I noticed earlier in the thread someone else on a Mac couldn't see it, but they didn't say if they were able to resolve it...

Works fine on my mac in safari. Across the top from left to right I have "logout", "# new messages" "? FAQ", "Donate", "Search", "members", "user Control Panel"

Again, many thanks to these people for their donation towards the forum. To date we have collected a little under four hundred dollars toward the forum costs. 8)

For the time being, this is more than enough for what we need for the forum's good health. From now on, donations will still be gratefully received, and will build up towards Ausmini's contribution towards Craig Watson's and Brett Nicholson's attempt at the Shitbox Rally 2013 in aid of the Cancer Council of Australia.

Again, many thanks to everyone.

Guys running a forum like this is a thankless task. We all appreciate your efforts. I would think carefully about passing the money onto other charities. While the support is currently good, it will no doubt loose its novelty and again you will be back to putting your hands in your pockets. My advise would be to keep the money yourselves and if it is enough money for the next 10 years then great. If you want to take some of the overflow and shout yourselves to a dinner and a few beers go for it. As always big things are done by a few who are prepared to do a lot. That should always be recognised.
Once again thanks for your contribution to the mini community.
Big thumbs up
Greg

I agree with Greg's advice. Keep the money for Ausmini.

Yeah hold up, what I donated was to keep Ausmini going, only. As much as I dislike cancer, and like Craig Watto (and his bum), I donate to cancer research in other ways. That money, I thought, was to ensure Ausmini's health for some time... :!:

If not, I want it back...

Seriously

Don't go changing the cause just because you got too much money. Open a trust fund called Ausmini and if that's what keeps the forum going indefinitely, then so be it.

Again, thanks to everyone. We have more than enough at the moment to last us the next three or more years, and this is without a return margin from stickers (which are organized by the way). The high capacity servers are paid up to December 2014, and seem so far to be spinning along quite sweetly, and we have enough to pay this again for the next two years after that.

I hadn't realised how much this would affect people and will come up with a way to differentiate from now on. Cancer Council and the Shitbox Rally are one in the same, support for Brett and Watto is support for the CC.

You all make good points, we do need to ensure the server continues to be funded, and we are in a strong position thanks to everyone's support for the foreseeable future. At the same time, I would be happy that the future donations people wish to put forward could be used for useful causes.

No one draws a wage, the servers are up to speed, and we would not be the first place to take gold coin donations for work that is performed gratis. In my own personal experience, there are certainly worse vices than pulling a few hundred out of ones pockets to fund a forum which keeps your Mini in tip top condition... So our financial position is good, the servers work well, and everything after this is money for jam.

I will ensure there is a method to differentiate, and at the same time assure you all that Ausmini's position is more than solid because of people's efforts. There's more than enough reasons to do this, as you are all stakeholders in Ausmini whether you donate, or you provide valuable answers to so many people's questions.
