Nice story about a guy bringing his 850 back to Tassie to meet up with previous owners.

That's really cool!

how would someone go about tracing the history of an old mini? I have a '62 850 and would be interested to know about some of it's history.

Maybe start with an FOI request from your local transport authority. There's a limit to what personal information they can give you about previous owners, but there could be some clues.

Nice one tself, as I mentioned in the other thread, I went to uni with Craig Nichols, in the late '80s and early '90s. I think it was his mum's car. He used to drive it some times. I remember having a good sticky beak when it was in their driveway. It was very original and well cared for, for its age.

I know Stuart as well. He didn't attend our International Moke Day trip on sunday because he had some lame story about meeting a bloke from Melbourne who owned his old 850. :D

Scotty, Sunday 10th November, at the Regatta grounds in Hobart. Its Tassie's biggest Mini show and only held every 2 years, so don't miss out!

Hope to see you at Baskerville on Sunday, Tim. Stuart will be there (unless he comes up with another lame excuse), and after hanging out with the Tas Mini Club last night, I know lots of other Minis, Mokes and MINIs will be there too!

I'm hoping to make it, but think I'll probably miss out.
