My guy on my recent road worthy said mine were not legal. They are about where yours are. However he said you should be fine. He was like just so you know if you do get a ning nong of a cop pull you over. Guess there is always one and I'm sure ill be in your shoes one day. However i hope not.

Rules vary between the states (and the cops).
Pretty sure the NSW ruling is that the tread cannot project past the flare at the 12 o'clock position, but the sidewall can.
And as Chong says a set of neg camber arms or adjustables would make it legal.

It is a stupid rule- they must have a different one for tractors then, hey.

So on to replacements... why don't they make rose petals in 10 x 5???

Has anyone had a set shipped from Huddersfield Spares and if so what was the shipping cost. They have a set of 10 x 5 minilite style wheels with A008s for 340GBP or A032Rs for 380. Good value or can I do better?

AO32R's will need camber due to the soft wall for it to be able to handle the same as A008's with harder wall. So if you are going to do camber anyway, don't bother changing wheels/tyres. If you aren't going to change camber, stick to A008's.

Was thinking I'd probably stick to the 008s. Still searching in the interweb for rose petals in 5". Why???????

To me, the best bang for buck is just to get non-adjustable -1.5 lower arms, fit them and set the alignment done ($35). Kev has a set he may want to part with. You'll need a set of adjustable castor bars too which are cheap at $68 http://www.minis.com.au/minis/catalog/p ... ucts_id=62

1) you'll get better handling overall anyway
2) cheaper
3) works and will tuck those tyres under the gaurds

AFAIK original magnesium rose petals were only ever made in 4.5". The copies are probably just that, copies..
Most early alloy wheels were 4.5" because the only radial tyre back then was a 145-10. I think Australia made some of the first 5" ones.

@Lillee... my spare 1.5 arms went with the van. Karcraft also carries these, and the adj castor bars.

I inquired about shipping with Huddersfield a few weeks back for set of wheels and tyres, 183GBP was the answer, better than most of the English mobs!

Oh well. Anyway Evan, add it all up, add up adjustable option and go with the cheapest?

I would go with adjustable, because even after getting tyres and rose petals, the geometry may still be out and there is no 100% gaurantee that it would still tuck under the guard! Adjustables will gaurantee this pretty much

LS contessas that need the brake caliper to be shaved. Even then some camber will be needed according to that plod you ran into

I'm fully adjustable. One of my many splurges. Can't say I'm set up too well though.
