Hi All,

My name is Geoff, and though I've not been around the mini community for a while, I'm certainly not new to minis. I've owned a number of original Cooper S cars in the past, and was a member of the Mini Car Club NSW around the late 80's. There are a number of familiar names to me still floating about.

I currently own an original 1970 Mk2 Cooper S in need of some TLC, and am learning a lot from the shared knowledge on the ausmini.com forum, thank you.

Geoff

Hi, I'm Nick. I've been out of the Mini scene for a few decades, used to work at Normanhust mini's in the early 90's, did my apprenticeship there.
I've had 15 mini's at last count, one Mk1 S, a 71 Clubman GT with a few K's and deluxe's in between.
I'm restoring the S now and need some advice, a lot has changed since I picked up a 1/2 spanner 20 years ago.
Nick

Hi all,
I'm Pat from Brisbane.
I'm currently fixing up a '71 clubman.
I'm a 2nd year mature age apprentice mechanic and am loving every experience of working on my mini.
Even the annoying experiences!
I'm excited about this forum and look forward to learning from everyone's experiences and sharing my own

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum! I literally just became a mini owner as of this morning. I now own a red '62 mini 850 with a 1275 swapped in.

The journey has just begun for me! I'm looking forward to interacting with and learning from you all.

Pat. (another one from Brisbane)

Hi guys,

Glad you found the forum. I hope that you find it useful. Don't forget to put some pics of your cars up in the members mini gallery for others to see what you have!

Cheers, Nick

Hi guys. I am Rob. I live in Toowoomba QLD. I have just bought a 76 Clubman S. I think it's an S. The previous owner had it resprayed in glorious 2 PAC black but has totally de badged it. Its body number is 021D2S1M09. Am I right or wrong?
Any info greatly received. I can't seem to find that number on any registers.
Either way I bloody love it. There are no other cars that get close for fun.
Great to be part of the scene
Rob.

021D2S1M09 means it is a Leyland Mini and not a Leyland Mini S.

021 = Leyland Mini
D = compliance code = manual gearbox
2S = 2 door saloon
1 = trim level (= poverty model!)
M = 4 speed floor change manual gearbox
09 = 998 cc motor.
