While fitting the disc brake assembly to the passenger side the drive shaft came out of the diff end joint. I shoved it back in and it appeared to be all sweet apart from getting the boot clips back on. Mucking about with the rims and tyres the other day I discovered the wheel won't rotate for more than about 1/8 turn forward or backward - car is not in gear and the other side rotates OK.

What could have happened and how do I tackle it?

Take the boot off the pot joint that side and verify all the balls are back in the slots properly.
