I joined a bunch of MCCmembers last year and we drove down to the grand day out along the coast over two days and it was great fun and such a nice drive.

I've got a pile of days I need to take of work so made a last minute discision to do it agian on my own.

I'll try and keep a blog of the trip. Fingers crossed I'll have no problems and I'll see you all in Melbourne on Sunday.

I love a last minute trip!

Its the things you forget which make them so interesting...

Cheers, I didn't pop again after I saw you and I adjusted the spear a bit more when I got home.

So Far no problems on first half of the trip, such nice roads esp south of Batemans Bay. Less and less traffic too.

Stayed night in Eden

Next Leg to Melbourne is a bit like going round the dark side of the moon, much less traffic, few towns and barely any phone reception.

Fingers crossed.

I've found the old standard wheel is great on a long trip, rest your arm on the window and your hand falls perfectly on the rim. Great drive today.

Image

Strange items at garage sale along the way, what a pity it wouldn't have fitted in the car.

Image

Made it in one piece, see everyone tomorrow.

I love the big wheel on long trips, though I wear a pair of string backed leather driving gloves to improve the grip.

I would have made that cat fit. Imagine being pulled up for breathos with a pinnacle predator in the back seat

Pretty uneventful trip home. Decided to head home in one jump along the very boring Hume.

Car went very well. Got surpriingly good economy. 7.2 L/100km (39mpg) was the best run, and thats with a boot full of tools plus luggage, usually sat on 105-110 km/h
