When I was a poor apprentice, I used to operate for months with a shot battery. For years after I would catch myself taking notice of slight beneficial inclines to park on.

Sorry Tim , i have to disagree , if my car handle carting that size battery around , i don't want it .
I'd rather have the piece of mind that whilst it is getting charge , ( i have a battery gauge ) that at least that part of my car is not going to let me down :wink: :D .

Perhaps. I'd rather an extra few kilos for reliability though - the difference when driving will be academic at best. A bigger battery also means you can listen to your radio for longer while parked!


Radio? Whats that?? . Minis dont need radios....... Issigonis said so. :wink: haha. :lol:

What id really like is one of these carbon batteries

Check them out

The middle one is 380cca and only weighs 5.2kg
But the smallest is rated 210cca and only weighs 2.5kg. 2.5KG for a battery!!! Crazy!!
