There is a Cooper S for sale on Carsales.com.au ad number SSE-AD-2545977 which is a fake - beware.

As best that I can determine the build plate is a deluxe but I stand corrected on that point. As well the owner is quoting Vin 4281. Build Plate YKG2S2 4281 was sold on ebay some time ago, plate only no vehicle.

I'm not taking sides but it's just possible, if he did take plate of to sell THEN a change of heart and refitted it and fxed car. A VERY remote possibility. I would get an extreemly thorough inspection done before parting with any money.

I just looked at add, all a bit vague but you'd have to be a bit soft in the head to try and fake a car at that price. You'd have to expect close scrutining, not to mention checking of numbers.

Nothing to do with this actual car but, what's the go if you, say, buy a car YOU think is 100% legit, then try to sell it on as that, only to find out it's fake? Is everone suppose to be a expert?

Hopefully (yeah right! )...the traffic authorities (like Roads and Maritime Services in NSW) maintain their databases of all issued numbers (yeah that would be right! )...
