A person has contacted me seeking any details about her Mini 850 that people may be able to provide. The info on the ID plate is :

The British Motor Corporation
(Australia) Pty Ltd

Type: YMA 2S1
Car No: 102862 / 10831
Engine No: 8AM UH / 294649
Colour Sunburst cream 3

Can anyone provide an estimate (guesstimate?) of the date of production? And happy to pass on any other info that is provided.

Thanks in advance

I will let the gurus with the production lists answer that, in the meantime you could always have a look at the date stamped on the wiper motor. Providing it is the original it will give you the date of manufacture. It may be 6 mths out either way.

"Sunburst Cream - 04873" wasn't around for too long from my google searches. Looks like 1962 was the only year it was avaliable?

Hi Ian,
What does your ID plate look like?
Is the stamping similar to the one in the photo, or is it nice and uniform.
I am trying to establish if my plate is original.
The numbers on mine indicate November 1962.

Sorry, IndigoBlueCooperS, it isn't my car. I've never seen the car or the plate (or photo's of either) so I can't provide any answers to your questions.

Thanks again to those who have replied, I will let the owner know it appears she has a June 1962 model

Looks normal to me. I think they got the work experience kid to stamp them out.
