I have two vans from different ends of the woods, but they both have the same missing piece. Is this just by chance??? Or is this common for some reason? Directly in front of the starter motor. Image

Check to seeing its been cut before or after chromingป. I have two grilles and neither of them are missing a piece.

Weird :!: the only thing I can think off is that someone had previously mounted a light bracket behind the grill and it protruded through (after the slat was removed)....maybe a car club badge :?:

I thought it may have been to hit a bar onto the starter motor when the solenoid gets stuck??

I can't see any other reason you would want a hole there.
