22G1832 is a common Oz Clubby rodchange box, small journal idler gear (ie NOT A+).

22G1128 is a 4 synchro remote box, could be Mini-K, Mk2S, 1098 Clubby, (or 1098 Moke if it has a puddin' stirrer shift on it).

If it has S flanges it may be an S box or been used in one, count the teeth on the 1st motion shaft.
18T = Mk2S or GT gear ratios
17T = common K etc ratios.

or check part number on cluster gear, 22G1040 = Mk2S or GT.

I dunno, I've never owned one that vintage.
Both mine were 998s with pot joints.

Remembering that remote boxes are in the region of 40+ years old so anything goes in terms of output shafts/diffs/ even the gearset.

Get a part number or count the teeth.

oh oh pick me pick me.....

I have one and yes they did :lol:

The GT gearbox has a code stamped into the side of the gearbox signifying it has close ratio gears (just cant remember the code). I would assume the Cooper S does also.

The Mk1 Cooper S has a number like an engine number stamped on the box, something along the lines of 9Y/1234 (don't make me go out to the shed to look!
The Mk2 has a different code. (but I don't have one here to check!)
The normal cars have a 12345/6 type of number.
These numbers will somehow define what the box was when it left the factory. I will take some photos tomorrow of what I have.

It's a rodchange box as I said.
18T pinion = a 3.44 diff = Clubby (shaped car) of some sort.
Could be from any of them, really...
