Having an issue with float bowl overflowing and leaking at the lid to bowl gasket. My floats both float and are entirely plastic no metal arm to adjust the float level. I've set the float level via thin shims under the seat. The needle and seats are brand new. I've got an electric fuel pump also rotary vane type, had me thinking maybe it's making to much pressure?

Saw these upgraded float valves was thinking of giving them a go. Anyone tried them?

IMO these all plastic floats are rubbish, I'd refit old floats if you still have them.

SU = a well designed carb, but let down by detail errors....

If I could get my hands on some old style floats I'd gladly fit them. I can't see any for sale anywhere. I think I binned all my SU parts many years ago.

Think I need to look at getting a pressure regulator or a new fuel pump..... 5psi may be a bit excessive???

Got a hold of some Minispares CA90 valves and fitted the old style float assy, also fitted an adjustable fuel regulator set at 2.5psi. Havnt started the car yet, but with the fuel pump on, no leaks. So its a good sign so far.
