G'day everyone,

Just as a matter of interest and possibly salvation.....I'd love to hear some creative reasons etc that you shouldn't get rid of the steaming pile of 50 yr old mini/parts/junk that makes her house look untidy etc.

I'm sure there's some past experiences to be tapped into, or if you've never had the privilege of living with a partner who is unappreciative of your interests, please feel free to be creative!

first rule the house is for humans
the garage is for cars /model boats, model planes and other assorted hobbies or other addictions
do not mix the two
and the most use full word "yes dear"

"Would you prefer a husband who spent his evening chain smoking out the front of a TAB?"

"No."

"Then there you are...you choose your poison..."

I tell my better half if I'm not tinkering with stuff in the garage I'll only start tinkering with stuff inside the house. Plus once in a while I start talking about re-doing the bathroom that's usually enough to get her pushing me back out into the garage.

I find the hard part is explaining to toddlers who and why someone is picking me up to take me to work today and what/when/who/how the "Mini Car" got broken again

It only takes you 2 mins to undo 2 wing nuts on the passengers seat and you can take her parking

My 44yo Mini is appreciating in value, where your 4yo Ford Fiesta is depreciating.. in fact the Mini is now insured for $1K more than yours is.
