Hi All,

I have been given some stripped down mini K doors to help rebuild and as i have an 850 i have not really done too much work on the windups before.

i have found a clubby how to guide but does anyone know of a round nose how to guide, i have the handle and lock in but not sure where the snail like spring goes.
also, the chrome frame trims are out of shape too, anyone know the best way to refit them?

thanks Grant

The snail spring goes inside the door. Obviously the square bit goes over the square handle pin and the hooked end goes on one of the screws that holds the handle on but it has a spacer sleeve.
Of course this is all from memory and may not be 100% correct. Do you have any workshop manuals to check?

Thanks Winabbey, the second one is perfect, althou no pictures, one of the screws does have a brass sleeve, for the spring i assume, out of the 3 points which one does it go to?

I will have another look and see if i can see this.

thanks again

Try a dry assemble out of the door to see which way it holds the handle up correctly.

Also I used allen key screws instead of the Philips head screws because it's hard to get the screwdriver on the screw correctly. just don't over tighten the screws or you'll warp the door skin.

If you find a copy of Scientific Publications/Gregory manual #64 there is a lot of info on the Oz early windup doors.
Most other manuals do not have it.

Note you can remove and refit the door locks without window removal, but the book does not say this.
