Hey all not really mini related but more shed related so I guess you could say mini related.

Just bought a workshop vacuum for the main purpose of vacuuminh out the dust from my deluxe but just tjought about how good it would be to suck up the dust on the floor. Shed has never been so clean..

A must for every mans shed I say..

I used the wife's vacuum cleaner for a dust extractor on my sand blasting cabinet.

It didn't last long.

All garage work involves equal measures of enthusiasm, ingenuity and a fair degree of irresponsibility.

If it is an Aldi wet and dry vacuum (or most types of wet and dry workshop vacuums) I found they work better with bags that clip over the inlet pipe otherwise the filters just block up with dust really quickly.
You can get filter bags to suit them from Bunnings.

Don't use them wet with bags though!

I've got one of those garden blower/vacuum things, it works really well for vacuuming the garage.

I've used the house vacuum a couple of times .

A good bag idea is to take an old jumper or pants and tie the arms or legs together, and zip tie it around the inlet inside the bucket. you could also sew or staple them closed.

My vac is honestly the most used tool in the shed, great for keeping the dust at bay when cutting or sanding anything, and a clean floor is much better to work on.

Shop vacs are great for running small pipes underground, just use an old screwdriver to loosen stuff up, and suck a small trench the width of the vacuum nozzle, fast and easy.

Use a wet vac to wet sand on a air dual action sander, hook the sanders exhaust straight into the vac to minimise that watery slurry getting all over the floor, paper seems to stay unclogged better too.

I love my vac, can you tell?

sometimes have lost focus, but never badly enough to use the boss's dyson in the shed.
besides have my own for the shed, then she cant see me use it.

I use the wife's old Oz made Hoover, it's so old and abused that all the wheels have gone and it's a sled now!
But it works good. I still have a bunch of new bags. No good for wet stuff though.

She would kill me if I pinched the Dyson...

I used the dyson in the shed before my sons baptism, only on the carpet around the pool table, although I did sweep it 3 times to make sure I had any nasty big bits of the carpet. The wife still didn't like me using in the though. I did leave the power head off. I really need a vac for the shed and I don't want to break the dyson it cost too much.

It is a sad state of affairs when blokey blokes are referring to a vacuum as THE....
this honour should be reserved for the kingswood, the deluxe, the S etc. I do agree a vacuum is a good shed tool though.
