The van used longer suspension struts (trumpets) than the 10" wheel minis.

Really?
I've never heard that before. How much longer?

Not sure, can't be more than a cm or so. The longer struts were used on the vans and 13" wheel mokes. I assume 12" wheeled minis used them as well, and I believe all UK minis switched to them in 1984.

Interesting might measure some.

I knew big wheel mokes had longer swing arms but never heard the trumpets being longer

True. Was done to get more ride height for load carrying.

The van shocks were also slightly longer, dunno if still available because I've not seen them listed for years.
