Hiya,

Does anyone have those chrome bezels on their wipers?
http://minispares.com/product/Classic/G ... o%20search

i've bought 2 sets... one which was supposedly for Mk1 and another for Mk3 minis as it turns out the actual bezel is exactly the same in both kits..

and neither of them fit on my clubby :-(
The angle of the bezel is incorrect so the nut cant actually tighten down.

should I be able to get a set that fit on the clubby? or should I just grind the base down to get the right angle?

The british Mk1 and 2 wiper bezels will never fit without a bit of modification as the angle is different to wipers on your clubman which drive from the passenger side. I'm not sure how those will modify up without damaging the chrome, but what's the cost...

I'm not sure why the Mk3 ones won't fit however, I thought they would be similar if not the same. bUt I have had trouble all the same. I had to do just what you did, but using urethane bezels and a belt sander make this a lot easier.

all 4 bezels I have are the same.

Probably just got sent the wrong one by one of the sellers... ahh well...

i might try grinding one down before i shell out any more money.

Just don't over heat it when grinding or cutting and try to grind inwards to prevent the chrome flaking and chipping off/out wards.

They do not make them for 1968> Oz Minis. And if you cut them down to change the angle, they don't cover the hole in the panel.
You can buy black plastic ones that fit, machined from HDPE, contact John Smidt or send me a PM.

John has black ones, machined from HDPE as I said. 2 types, early and late. Late ones are bigger diameter, and shorter.

I've never seen chrome ones for the later cars. I have tried cutting down Mk1 chromed UK ones, they are too narrow to seal properly.

Thats a pity... was hoping to replace the back ones with chrome/silver.

I'll have to track down a black set i guess

OK.
Good to see somebody else carries them for the late scuttle panel, was not the case a few years back.

That is an early car with the UK style bezels. Have been available for many years, unlike the late type- Mini K, Mk2S, `Matic and Clubby ones. Which are shorter, wider and different angle.

HDPE machined late Oz ones-

That's why the late ones are about 2mm or more wider at the panel.
