Done a little searching and googling, I'm probably searching the wrong thing though. .

want to know what the extents of the hydro bags are in a mini, full compression and full extension if that makes sense? and load rating and all that.

after reading about some of the issues fixing up old bags, of which the ones i have for my project are, going to contemplate something a little left of field, keeping my mouth shut though as to what it is (though not hard to guess)

so if someone has the specs on the bags they can provide that would be great

I have yes(albeit I cannot see the photos though), part of what has sparked me not wanting to go down the 'attempt to use my old bags' path.

though I cannot seem to find reference to the bag heights? or is that what the trim height means?

The photos contain all the data, such as bag heights and internal displacer specifications from the factory drawing. I suggest you fix that issue first so you can take in all the data, then see if there's anything you are missing.

If you are thinking airbag, it won't work as one. Working pressure in the hydro is nearly 300psi.

The hydro displacer is more correctly described as a rubber cone with a bladder in it. The rubber flexes under varying load.

yes airbags, but not using the hydro bags, throwing them in the bin(well give them away if someone wants them)

If you can find airbags that have a small enough diameter to replace the Hydro bags let us know but from everything I've seen, airbags are too wide to fit in the mini subframe suspension towers.
I've thought about it in the past but I couldn't find airbags small enough.

Will do, I have a few suppliers to check out, and a company that custom makes bags to specs. . . either way should be able to sort something.

what is the diameter? (ill check photos on pc at home tonight to be sure on this anyway but may as well ask)

If you get a small enough diameter to fit the subframe you will need to run much too high a pressure for the airbags.
The diameter of the bag and the lever ratio of the suspension arms work with each other or in a Mini against each other.

one would assume this is why the airbag kits you can buy for minis generally go in place of the shocks (or where the shocks would sit if using wet sub frames/body)??

to use airbags in place of the hydro bags would not you need to run the same pressure as a hydro bag then? 250PSI odd? hmmm Still thinking it through hence why i was after the hydro bag specs

Were you thinking air bags for adjustable ride height? If so you could still do it using the hydro bags, just use a small 12v hydraulic pump and storage tank. It would still take some fiddling but could possibly work.

Hydro is not designed to change height. It is designed to operate at one pressure (plus or minus 10psi)
If you want to raise a hydro car you are supposed to fit spacers between the strut and the knuckle joint, if you want to correctly lower a car you shorten the strut.
Then there is the problem with the tension of the helper spring that sets a rate in the suspension to reduce pitch.

Didn't the London to Sydney marathon 1800s have hydro height adjustment via hand pumps mounted on the back seat back?
A couple of 12V OMC outboard trim & tilt pumps would do it better.
