I thought they heated them in the blacksmiths forge and hammered them back into shape in your day Kev :)

Cheers, Ian

I use a "L" shaped piece of HT wire to pull split pin out and same bit with split pin blue tacked on to refit it. To do clevis, flick it out easy enough, then wire with loop in end like doing engine mount bolts, put in hole and by pulling on pedal its locked in place to pull wire off. push right in and fit SP. Sh*t easy. Don't forget squirt of Viscotene to finish off.

Best tool in the world for these clevis pins! (imho)

They're really long, only 14 bucks, and being offset you can see exactly what you are doing in the dark hole that is the pedal box.
They will pull the split pin out with authority, put the clevis pin back in cos you can see exactly where it is going, and put the new split pin in as well. Your hands aren't blocking the way as they would with small pliers so you see everything that is going on up there in the tight little space.

I keep them around only for this job....and sometimes for pulling hooks out of sharks throats when I'm fishing on the deep briney... :P

$15.59 for them pliers at supercheap auto here. $14.99 on the website.

My brother saw something on the Supercheap website and when he went into the store it was dearer, so he asked them to match another stores price. When they asked who he said Supercheapauto.com.au.

ACCC jumped on coles and woolies for doing this. Its a national advertising campaign with some asterisks involved. The big two were forced to bring their prices into line nationally.

That's nuts. It costs less to sell online, they should be able to sell cheaper online. Hell in NZ even the govt does it: annual licensing on a car is cheaper online than it is if you go into a brick and mortar agent. Rather than whinging that a product is cheaper online, I'd be questioning why it wasn't.

They can sell cheaper online, there is no law against it.

The problems in Australia is when a store advertises a product in a catalogue at one price and when you get to the store you find a different price and when quizzed they make claims about excess freights costs or other silly things.

Supercheap also has their 25% off everything sales where they put all the prices up 20% the day before the sale and then drop them again a day or two later.

To be fair though, bunnings don't do specials, it's one of their policies (only every day low prices!).

But then they do have run-out sales and things - essentially specials by another name.

Last weekend I bought a mixer tap at Bunnings, it was listed as a clearance/run out item at $10 which was a bargain, the regular price was $39.
This week they are $29, so much for the clearance!

I found the same thing this week at officeworks, I needed a microSD card and it was $3.00 dearer during `the sale' than in their online catalog.
