I have no idea what economy I get with the Dellorto on my 1360, but since I rejetted it to be 12.5:1 A/F ratio at full throttle, it is way better. You can expect to use a bit more than an SU, if it's using 2x as much you are running too rich.

Danny's 1098 Moke (40 Weber) was running at 10.8-11.0:1 A/F full throttle yesterday after a well known tuner recently jetted it. Has 150 main jets in. Too rich.. he's now buying some 140s and 145s.

I am struggling to get 320km out of a 25ltr tank when i am city driving.
I used 1/4 of a tank to your place and back the other day but saying that i had an engine strapped to the back.

had a 45 weber on an 1152 for a while... amazing sound, great fuel inefficiency, and leaked after the engine was off. I still miss it...

the sound is great. . . that fuel inefficiency though is what I don't want on this car. . .

hmmm, maybe I should look more into rebuilding the seized 1 1/2 SU that's corroding away in the back yard. . .

Leroy.

Seriously, if economy with a roadgoing Weber or Dellorto is really bad, it just ain't been jetted right. Or, the fuel level is way too high, or the choke mechanism leaks fuel through (Weber only).

Hi Matt,
I am not pointing fingers at anybody in particular.
It is well known that many roadgoing Webers get jetted for max power, at the expense of economy. Maybe the owners want them this way?
For a road car they do not need to be that rich. Unless it's a turbo.

I am just pointing out that a road car running a Weber does not need to run way too rich.

okidokey,

so I need to get myself
32mm chokes
140 main jets
180 air correctors

then this should have me running rather economical???

is this something that is easy to do to the dellorto or should I get a specialist shop to do this for me?

Thanks.
Leroy.

It is easy.
So you know what you are doing I would invest in a Dellorto book.
The most useful one I have found is this one- as a bonus it covers Webers too. Also has suggested jetting for A series motors.
