I have, but compared to the original I thought it sounded like the main shaft bearing in the gearbox letting go...

My wife plays the cello/bass. When we were going out I would give her a lift to cello lessons in my 1275 LS.

Easiest way was for her to hold it with the cellos neck poking through the open sunroof.
