To be fair putting a V6 is no worse than a V8 - the V6's produced power very similar to the V8s. Having said this, a V8 mini has been done to death, and that is perhaps the worst attempt at a conversion I've seen. Look at how high the transmission tunnel will be - the drive shaft will need to drop dramatically to reach a rear diff (unless that sits inside the car too!). Is there even a front subframe anywhere there? What will the front suspension attach to? Where does the radiator go? Is there enough space for the steering rack? It looks like they've put the engine in, realised they should have done some more planning, and are now selling it off.
pretty much sums it up, I did build a buick v6 powered charade once, rear wheel drive and all, we called it the 'chatterdore' was rather insane, radiator had to be shrunk and offset, stock front charade suspension so it sat VERY low. baseball bat flared rear arches and the commodore rear diff shortened tailshaft. it worked, it drove it handled like rubbish. . ended up pulling the motor and diff selling them and turfing the body to scrap metal, was a fun project when you are 17-18 with the parts already lying around. but I would never butcher up a mini for such purposes.
that said! my mate did attempt a 4wd mini using a sierra chassis floorpan and firewall and a van body grafter around the sierra body looked awesome, has a 2ltr 4cyl turbo diesel fitted was quite a machine. it also got parted out and turfed, in his defense the van body had no numbers (asume previous owner had cut them out and kept them with the plates he also kept) and it had a rusted out floor and front end. otherwise it would not have been sacrificed for such things either.
the thing that gets me about this one is that the body appears to have been good to begin with.
