Quick Update forumites....
The replacement WMI pump for the one that never arrived showed up at the end of June. With all the stuff going on with Leonidas and also the Ford Prefect hot rod I'm doing, I really wasnt in a rush to put it in. However, last weekend (5-6 July) I got a couple of free hours to myself because there was a bye for Mitch's footy comp seeing as it was school holidays.
Compared to the old pump, its huge. Standard pressure is 200psi, well above the 40psi that the old Shurflo puts out. Apparently it can be cranked up to 300psi, but at that pressure it pulls heaps of amps! At the standard factory setting of 200psi, it still pulls 10amps which is quite a bit on a 12VDC system. The standard pressure is heaps enough to atomise the water/methanol mix into an extremely fine droplet - akin to very fine mist. Here they are side-by-side:

I put an electrical connector onto the pump using a 2-pin Narva connector:

Luckily, the bolt setout for the new pump was identical to the old pump - its kind of an unnofficial industry standard as Shurflo were one of the very early 12VDC pump manufacturers (sullage, bilge and sprayer pumps) so they set the scene with the bolt pattern and everyone after came along and followed suit. I grabbed some 6mm Secure-Torx fasteners from Masters (love Masters!!!) in stainless steel to afix the pump to the alloy plate. That way, it just makes it so much harder for the delinquints to steal the pump without the right socket. Here it is in situ with all the hoses connected and the pump itself connected cable-wise:

Once I finished that, I decided to stay with the boot space and fitoff the license plate light. It comes in from the passeneger side, so I wrapped it in split conduit and passed it through a grommet as it entered the bootlid, then down through another grommet as it enters the light fitting itself.

Fitted off the light itself and voila, done. Still hate the mismatched white but at least it wont stop me getting it on the road. Is it as noticable as I think it is????

That is about it for The Cat, but there is still one more thing to do to the bootspace to finish it off. Hope you like the result....
Cheers,
Tricky
