Even if you found it you could never own it. If it was insured then it now belongs to the insurance company. If not the original owner still owns it. So you can never own it. Also the NSW dept of transport don't have records older than early 80's, so asking for vin numbers is not going to work.
PS the one that is being followed in the magazine is mine but is a different car,. Its one of the works cars from the next year,.
