The last time I spoke to Paul Gulson he was selling a fake S made out of a K. Apparently they are identical and it is perfectly ok to make a new plate....

I have looked at this replica Cooper S. It was owned previously by a guy in Hervey bay who bought it from a well known Gold Coast restorer mentioned in this forum He told me that it was not a Cooper S. The car is not an original Cooper S, possibly a mini 850. The resto was very good but numbers mean little as YKG2S4 should not be on this car.

Ummm isn't that illegal? How was that not picked up when it was registered.
Or am I missing something. Is Queensland different from the rest of Australia? :shock:

The seller just emailed me (in response to a question I asked about the cars provenance) to tell me it has been sold. One hopes the apparent buyer isn't under the misapprehension they've bought a ridgey-didge Mk2 S?

I have heard there is a shop in northern Sydney that can make you a Cooper S also.
