Also advertise in the latest edition of B.M.C. Experience.

What would it be worth?

I'm too afraid to enquire just in case I can afford it!

"price POA" = sales speak for "if you have to ask, you can't afford it"

I have been down that road with Wilf before when he had a traveller for sale. Expression of interest, ffs mate just say what you want for the car. He got shitty when I pressed him for a price, excuse me for wanting to buy a car!

If it can't be registered its not worth much here. They would be better off shipping it to the UK. It may be Downton prepared but it will NEVER be a historic Downton car. Its fitted with an asthmatic version of the 1275 and loaded with extra kg's. I would rather have a stock real Cooper S than an advertising gimmick.

Maybe it's not really for sale! I'm often being asked how much do I want for my Mini, my reply was always 'it's not for sale' but now I just say $30,000 and only hope no one says 'ok'!

Ok I've seen them in the flesh, they are not a recognised limited edition it's only from a company that made a hand full using a list of bolt on goodies using a sixties brand trying to cash in

As for being registered here needs a compliance plate, and should be good to go

Unless its been started and ran frequently I see a few issues with it that will be costly

A true collector would know the price and it wanting one may pay the price, sadly Australian Mini fans miss the boat when it comes to pricing and expect to pay with low ball offers,

Remember the Facts to consider when pricing up a late model import

Whenever I see the advertisement for that Downton Cooper S the figure of $75, 000 comes to mind. I hate starting rumours so I've flicked through old Mini Experience to prove it but can't find a quoted figure. However, I have seen that number somewhere - maybe in an online site etc.

I guess your "NEVER" referred to the fact that it's not "Downton" prepared ...Its just a tizzed up late model put together by some tinpot company that bought a famous company title long after the true identity disappeared

IMHO it would be embarrasing to take it out in public.

Cheers, Ian

Would be fine if it were priced according to a Cooper import. With limited K's and that sort of nick. If you were looking for a late model import it would be viable as you get some form of exclusivity, but I wouldn't see its value past the 20's

D'oh.... Anything up to $20k is very tempting, I'm going to be driving past Wilf's place today
