You will need to take the rocker cover off, and turn the engine until the engine is at the top of the compression stroke on number 1 cylinder (closest to the radiator, both valves shut at top dead center).
Take the dizzy cap off, and the lead will be pointing to where number 1 lead meets the cap. If it does not, adjust your timing until it does.
Also check, looking at the cap from the front, the leads should be arranged in 1-3-4-2 anti-clockwise.
Once it starts, have your timing light and mirror ready to arrange the timing back precisely to the book setting.
