Anyone installed or heard any reviews about the central locking and/or alarm/immobiliser kit from A-Series Spares? They appear to be a UK based company.

P.S. If you are going to be doing any work yourself on your car it's also worth looking at the Mini-in-a-Box kit that A-Series Spares sell. It's a brilliant piece of kit :D

Mini's already have "central locking".
You can reach all the doors while sitting in the drivers seat

If you have a mini with corner windows, most central locking kits will work well. I can't say how well the generic kits will work for doors without corner windows, as I've only done it on my car, and it was a pretty easy install.

I haven't fitted mine yet but I plan to fit a kit to my car.

I wouldn't buy a kit designed for UK Minis. Doors are completely different.

I've had a generic kit on my mini for perhaps 6 years now, and it works well.

The solenoid fit fine under the corner window where the normal window can't hit it. The biggest difference is that the polarity needs to be reversed - 'push' to lock and 'pull' to unlock, instead of the other way around like most cars have.

I have central locking in my Leyland mini, I live near Cronulla and my local mechanic put it in for me, he used parts he stocks. He does a lot of custom work for me and his rates are reasonable.
