Hi all
My name is a Rob and I live down in Melbourne. Learnt to drive in a mini many years ago back in the UK, still remember it fondly it was a 1988 Red Hot. Have always loved the mini and thought about getting another but life got in the way a bit. Anyway after talking about it a bit more recently the CEO also known as the trouble and strife or the misses or Da Boss as the kids call her. Turned round a said 'stop talking about it and just go and buy one'. You don't get many green lights like that so I am now on the hunt. This forum is Quality, fully of information and some really interesting stories, great car pics and what seems like a good bunch of people. I am bound to ask a heap of dumb questions along the way but I am sure I won't be the first or last person to do that. Anyway just wanted to say high and hopefully see some of you round Melbourne when I find the right car. :-)

Hi Rob, Your story sounds very similar to mine. My first car was a Mini in the UK and always wanted another, I also got the green light a couple of months ago and picked up a Clubman a few weeks back. Let me know how you go finding a Mini.

I live in Seddon not far from you..

Hey Guys, long time reader first time poster. My name is Aiden i'm 25 and i'm Based in Hobart. Mid last year i brought an Ex Australian post 1976 Leyland 998 mini Clubman. I've always had a passion for Mini's since my dad owned a worked 1275 clubman.

I picked up my clubman rego'd and running for $1400 and currently have it stripped so i can do some simple rust repair and body work ready for paint. Planning to use it as a daily so i don't have to run a V8 every day.

Hey guys,
Just another crazy mini enthusiast from Victoria. I've got a 1964 Morris 850, I've only had her for 3 months, picked her up for $300 and only one spec of rust on the front r/h sill. It's now got 8.4 disc brakes on the front, body has been stripped on a rotisserie but that's as far as I've gotten.

Nice to meet you all! Nick :)

Good pick-up there Nick...throw up (ergh, put) some pictures up when you get further down the track. Also great to see someone giving Mini retardation priority straight off  :D

Hello,

As your summer comes on and our winter is just around the corner, ROO the '73 OZ Mini Window Van is tucked in the garage between outings on dry days.

After our travels in Australia in 2011 and 2013, ROO came home to Canada and this year logged 11,300 kilometres on a road trip across Canada and back through the USA.

Will get a rest in 2015 as Mini Meet West will be right here in the Fraser Valley...not in Oregon, California or Arizona.

Wishing everyone in Queensland, NSW, South Australia and Tasmania happy motoring through the dry bits of Summer.

Cheers!

Rick/Hunter2

evening all....from Adelaide.
I got the bug as an apprentice working with all manner of BMC stuff in the early 80s
I've had my CKD built '63 997 since 1984 that I resurrected from a basket case.
I've had 2 MKII Cooper Ss that have since come and gone but the 997 has remained.
Look forward to a chat.
Michael

Hey guys and gals,
I'm ian, 26, I live on the central coast NSW , I have 3 minis own 2 of them.
77 clubman sedan, first car owned and drove once the 998cc died I stripped it out and planned to restore it but lack of funds at 18 and knowledge It has sat since, not sure what to do with it yet.
76 clubman panelvan currently stripped completely and on a rotisserie that my brother made for me, big plans to restore her!
Have whole new front end panels to replace the rusted and dented ones that I removed, new rear lower corners and beaver panel to put on .
Large flares to install for my 7x13 superlights
Disc brakes
1330cc engine and now have a cross flow head for it
4core radiator
Big bore exhaust
Few other parts and things to get but hopefully it will all come together soon.

I have a 1963 Morris mini original black but my dad has taken over this project to restore it to original.
Hope to get my panel van on the road soon so I can go on some mini runs and shows.

Hey guys

David here, Based in Adelaide

I own a shell that was a 60s morris panel van, just purchased to restore not to much to tell right now but will keep you updated as things move on..

Will end up putting in the promotive R1 kit at some stage depending on engineering and $$$ already in discussions with the engineer who seems very optimistic of being able to get it all approved and registered.... lets see what happens

I owned an 1100k when i was younger and was looking for a sedan but the panel van cam up , was straight and a good price so went with that, now looking for a body guy here in SA....
