you don't need to add lead substitute to Avgas, it already has plenty of lead in it.

I use flashlube, when I pulled the head on my car to replace a gasket, valves and seats looked new.

Thats good enough for me! if it keeps them looking new on a road car thats exactly what I'm after!

Thanks everyone for all of the input and information.

Still wondering about checking the compression? will this give a good insight to the condition on the valve seats?

Milly

Kinda...but a leak down test is the one to specifically check loss of compression through the valves...

Ok, might look into that in the near future, engine seems healthy and runs good so I'm not worried, just curious!

.
As others have said, there's Octane Supreme or there's Octane Supreme.

Really everything else is a loooong way behind.

Heya Goodie,

This is the only supplier I am aware of in Australia (linky thing HERE). They are immediately next door to Link Automotive in MItcham.

Hans may have distributors in other States, however I really don't know as it is easy enough for me to swing past there and buy directly like I did just yesterday ;)

Cheers

Dave

I thought it was now illegal/unlawful to use leaded fuel for road use now?
I know you get hung by the short & curlies and cop a big fine if using Avgas on the road, in NSW anyhow.

Same in Qld Kev because it doesn't have the taxes that normal servo fuel does = Gubmint not getting enough dollars, nothing to do with the enviroment.
