I get that it is not going to make it safe like a modern car but I would like to be able to take the kids in the car and can't do that in Vic without seat belts.

I was going to do the same with my Mini but at the end of the day regardless of the legal requirement the better half decreed the kids were never to go in the Mini as seat belts or not it will never be a safe car.

Fair point, plus put kids in any car and you're going to end up with ice cream in the carpets, biscuit crumbs, sticky lollies and small toys under the rear seat, the back of the front seat will be kicked in and a dollar coin will be jammed into the CD player! I let the better half win that fight :D

I'm very lucky my grandpa let us ride around in the mini on their farm when we were kids, otherwise I probably wouldn't have got into minis at all!

Im just in the process of looking into this like simo74, with young kids the mini doesnt get a great deal of use I'd like to be able to put the child seats in for the odd run.

Has anyone got any pics of their installs? Do you require Lap sash belts for child seats or will lap only pass regs? Im thinking it will be easier to fit lap belts therefore no mounting on c pillar and given the kids are harnessed into the maxi rider style seats the belt is simply holding it down. Obviously require a restraint point on the parcel shelf as well.

I know someone who is certified to install the belts but would like to know what kits/parts others have used.

Cheers
