My charcoal canister has 3 outlets:- Tank,Rocker cover and Vacuum.

I have plugged the vacuum outlet on the cannister and the inlet manifold and left the other 2 connected,is this right.

wont that make it stink of fuel not having purging hose?

Not 100% sure as it's been awhile since I looked at my canister (I removed it years ago during a rebuild that has stalled) but that sounds like it should be fine.

<EDIT>Actually, I completely misread that...

If you've plugged both ends of the vacuum line I presume you are trying to delete the system? If that's what you are trying to do I would think you would plug all three lines. If you've just plugged the vacuum side of things the fumes etc will still collect in the canister but now have no where to go. My limited understanding of the system is that the vacuum side is to draw off any fumes back into the intake to be burned off. Not sure how much not having this function any more will affect it, but I couldn't see it being helpful.

Are you trying to eliminate the canister

The job of the vacuum is to suck the fumes back into the manifold to be burnt off. By plugging this you are letting the fumes escape into the engine bay and back into the cabin. If you want to remove the canister altogether you can replace it with a PCV valve. However this leaves the tank to vent to atmosphere, but that shouldn't be a problem.

All I have connected now is the pipe from fuel tank and pipe that runs to the rocker cover.
The vapours should get sucked into the rocker cover when engine is running.

Ahh except there's no vacuum from the rocker cover, in fact often quite the reverse. Only vacuum available is on the inlet system, if you can use a PCV to plumb in there, that's the best option.
