Hi guys, I'm new to the forum.

So i have the bug again and bought a mini, morris, frankenstien 850-deluxe-leyland it has turned out but it is going ahead as a build anyway.

Basically its an 850 shell, leyland 1100 donk and front subframe (i believe) and deluxe era/style doors. Was maroon but now tartan red/white roof combo.

Anyhow the donks reedy to go back in with some performance parts and a coat of paint and new gaskets/seals/radiator/hoses blah blah

The dash had been removed and the kid tried (if you can even call it that) to fit a swift dash..... wow and why, looked shocking and my 2yo son would have had a better go at it i reckon (sorry if it was you who did it but i wouldn't put my hand up if it was).So i have the panels and a friend from the sub corps is welding them in and going over anything else that needs doing, mirror holes, cracked sub frame top ten screwholes etc (yep teks everywhere)

Then its due to go off to bodywork/paint in a few weeks.

My question is of peoples opinions of removing/welding up the 'moustache' extensions and bonnet and boot badge holes

The car now has stepped drums and 6" cooper s rims w stretched tyres, is having flares on, and will ride lower than standard but not stupid, is being re/sprayed in the red/white combo with white vinyl bonnet stripes and door number circle. just wondering thoughts on the badge removal, I'm torn on the subject. Im keeping drivers side bullet mirror and not de-seaming (as i personally don't like that look) and have headlight mesh screens to fit and bonnet straps. it is being built for occasional road use.

i know its all about personal opinion but any opinions will help, just having the welding done in the next few weeks and need a mind set by then.

thanks

Just put 'Mini,' on boot lid and a K bonnet badge. Simple but it let's the people under 15 know what it is.

I reckon if you dont want badges then weld up the holes, its your car and no one has to be happy with it but you, before you do it take some good photos and measurements, its not hard to drill a few holes later on if you change your mind

I don't have a front badge on mine and I quite like the look, totally personal preference though.

I reckon it looks bare without badges but that's my opinion

A Mini does not need any badges. Every one knows what it is.

I had all the badge holes welded up on mine because I planned not to run any......I later put some on, but they're only taped on like modern car badges, not pinned.
