yeah it seams to have some bits from mk2, it is mk1 with wind up windows?

I am new to mini models etc, , my question is are these factory fitted items as the models crossed over , or would have just been
changed when repairs etc were done?

The changeover to MK2 S was May 1969. Things like the heater and brake servo were crossovers. The badge was not.
If you want it to look like a MK1 then you will need to change the bonnet badge to the earlier Morris Cooper chrome badge with the separate "S" above it.
I can't quite read the car number. Looks like 4488 which would be around 8/68. There should be no MK2 items on your car, the previous owner would have changed the seats and bonnet badge.

I'm a bit baffled as to why your worried about a original gear knob and other bits you've just painted it silver, black stripes flares etc all non original you may as well keep going and change things to suit yourself

goldbro, I am not worried about it, just trying to learn what was correct for the car.

if I am going to have to buy some bits for it, I would prefer to make the decision with knowledge of what was correct.

the paint colour is easy to change for me, which is why I went they way we did. we love silver and think the end result will be what where looking for.
the car has been in my wifes family for 30 years( and it will be for 30 more), but her parents are all very vague and have little knowledge of what is correct for the car as it was just their run about.

also are flares not correct for cooper s either?

thanks russ

The flares came out standard on the Mk2 S. Each state brought their own rules in to have the Mk1 S changed due to the wheels protruding. I think this was early 69 when the rules changed.
