I could get that 'paint OK' one done easy but I would need either a perfect condition photo of it with a scale for size.....like take the photo with a ruler held next to it, or if someone has an original they could send me. I only have this photo that does not show it at all really.

Obviously BMC had a pretty low standard if that paint is OK :D

Got the paint sticker back today. Its pretty bloody good if you ask me. I guess if you want to be picky, the 'A BALM PAINTS PRODUCT' font is a little too bold and the sticker itself is not as glossy as the original. Its also not on a metal material but I thought I might be able to stick it to an aluminium can first and cut it out and stick it on.

So now I would like to know......
If the car had a white roof, would that colour be on the same sticker? Does anybody have a photo?
If I wanted to do other colours, say Jet Red, is there a listing somewhere for the paint code including the first three digits?. The paint code listed for Jet Red says 11574 but the first three numbers as in the sticker below are not listed. What do the first three digits mean?
How many variants are there for this sticker?

I am able to get more of these done and he can easily change the colour to whatever is required. This sigle one cost me $35 but I am assuming the more I get the cheaper it will be.

The white would be a separate sticker.
Most of the 2 tones I have seen had the roof colour on the top and the body colour on the bottom, located on the firewall behind the master cylinders.
I will see if I can dig up a few photos.
There is a photo here from SMK269.

There was another photo of the 2 stickers on this Cooper S sold a few months ago. http://car-from-uk.com/sale.php?id=135184

Yep, two colours = two stickers one above the other.
The top colour on top.

I had mine made locally just a couple weeks ago. I also had all the buckles and latches chromed. In my Opinion they are an exact replica of the original but they are printed on a vinyl material. They are $30 a pair if anybody wants some. A bit expensive for a sticker but buying them like this chews up the material. Would be better if I had orders for 20 or so. I am also getting colour code stickers done as well. I am waiting on the sample. Will post here when I get it.

I looked into this a while back and was trying to work out a way of stamping the embossing in but it would mean making a little die press and having the right kind of foil that would press.

Looking at those stickers Iansmini67 has had done (which look great) it would be interesting to try printing some sort of very slight rosette outline "shadow/reflections" to give the illusion of the embossed rosette. I've seen this done with modern car badges. I think old Hyundai excels had a badge on the boot you would swear looked concave but when you looked closely it was actually flat, just an illusion.

I'm sure someone with some graphics skills could come up with something.

I have a scan of an original Paint OK sticker. Let me tell you that printing them out on paper and sticking them on with paper glue is exactly the same outcome as the original!

Also, the paint sticker. Yes I did have a squillion of them, and I gave them out for a while just to get them out there on people's minis rather than sitting here in a box. At some stage I would like to have them remade along with some others (paint stickers).

In the meanwhile, I can give you a copy of an original sticker I made up some time ago. Yes they had an embossed finish to them, but once they go onto the button as they are printed onto the metal foil, they look pretty good as well.

Here's a classic pic from Cam Creswell's original late van. Credit to Craig Watson (Watto)

Note the little notch on the inside of the outer circle at about 4 o'clock. It's a standard "feature" of the original label.

I will post this here and in the for sale section.

For those interested, I have arranged to have printed a small qty of the BMC 'Seat belt stickers' and the BMC Paint OK stickers. If I happen to run out I can get more done.
The paint OK stickers have been printed on Flat white vinyl. You really need to look close to see the difference and these should last longer than printed paper ones.
These have been taken from Mick's original scan. They look a bit small but if the scan is correct these are correct too. I will get onto Mick and check. If there are any issues I will have them re printed and post out to those who bought them.

The Chrome seat belt stickers are $25 a pair and the BMC 'Paint OK' Stickers are $5 each posted for free.
If you are interested PM me and I will send you my bank details.

Cheers
Ian

I mounted mine on the drivers side and up a little so those rear seat passengers who have a close eye for detail will see the sticker.

The "notch" is the actually where the embossed ribbon for the embossed rosette lies across the circle.

They went to a lot of trouble for a seat belt button.
