Looking for opinions re painting my 69 Cooper S.It was origionally Jet Red & has been painted about 3 times,it is now bead blasted & at the old school panel beaters. What paint would you use? would you use Acryilic or 2 pack? I can get the formula for acryilic from the paint suppliers but he does not have the formula for 2 Pack in Jet Red.Whould anybody have the formula for 2 Pack Jet Red as that is what am favouring. Thanks for any help.

I had a pretty tough time as well getting the code for Jet Red. Its reasonably close to Honda Flame Red I am told, but this is still an ongoing issue with painters.

I have a couple of pieces panel here which are flame red if you would like to borrow one and have it colour matched after a bit of polish?

I'll be using Acrylic on my 1970 Cooper S. I want it to be as close to factory specification as possible, warts and all.

Of course it's a personal decision and depends on your priorities. I can understand someone customising their Mini and wanting a high gloss result, perhaps in a non-standard colour, in which case 2 pack would probably be the solution. But you specifically asked what paint I would use, and that's my answer. :)

I would use Acrylic for an original car and 2 pack for a replica/modified car.
