Picked up a Mk2 Cooper S body yesterday, was destined for the tip. Have asked Kev to post the pic for me. Is a genuine S shell, with correct compliance plate, November 1970 build. Know little of it's histroy other than PO stripped exterior paint and has sat outside in the weather for a number of years. Body is remarkably sound with very little rust, floors are good, likewise boot floor although the boot corners have holes. And, the body is straight. It is certainly repairable and have a very rusty 70 Mini K as a donor car. RH tank, doors and bootlid came with the car too. A long term project.

Nice find. Cairns is good for barn finds. ONce bought a Mk 1 Cooper S out near Mareeba in 1993. Paid $10 for it, yes $10.

Can anyone help me with identifying what the original colour might have been. It's nit the yellow in the door jamb, but the darkish blue on the passenger's windscreen pillar. It's a colour I'm not familiar with. Anyone know what it might be?

Looks baltic blue, is the right year for it too. The other nearer colour is Indigo blue but this is a little bit darker, and with a bit more green in the mix

i met a guy once who bought his mate's troublesome matic for a $2 coin.
he tossed the matic engine and slapped a 'better' thing into it... shameless.
