I bought a set and they feel to be cast alloy, they didn't look solid enough for me.

Ok had an inch of foam taken out of the base and back rest.

I've now got 2 fingers between my head and the head lining bow. I'll remove the 10mm of underlay out from under the rear leg section and add some thin rubber instead.

I think the front bolster section has to go. My bum is sitting right on the edge of it. I could probably deal with it but I don't see the point on it when it's meant to be for under your legs. My legs are no where near it.

In the underlay? Yeah that's what I'm thinking. But will place some thin rubber on the floor to perhaps? Or maybe just the carpet will be ok?

Sorry meant the bulster at the front. as for the chair legs, what about some tennis racket grip tape around the legs? might look a lil' messy though. 2 small strips out of the underlay with a little rubber under would be "invisible"

Yeah nah. They are removing the bolster entirely which means the base trim needs to be re-done entirely as the shape is now different. Ive also changed the rear trim design to match that of the rear seat. So essentially this will wind up being a total re-trim again...

Righteo, seat re-trim Mk II..... second round was $841, taking the total front seat re-trim and re-re-trim to $1899 plus purchase of seats, frame blast/powdercoat and replacing all internal diaphragms/springs etc which added another $800 to the bill, so $2699 plus the purchase of inertia reel seat belts at $235. $2934........ Very expensive little job that turned out to be removing the racing seats....

Havnt fitted them yet, so not sure if I fit just yet...

That cash stings but they look great. Give it a year or so to forget the cost and you'll be happy :)

Looks great. Glad you could sort it. Out of interest how tall are you as I am about to refit my fronts and want to get the foam correct.

I'm 6"3. Just tonight I was playin around with some seat adjuster brackets. I'm finding if I go back any further, the seat fouls the inertia reel seat belt on one side and also the bolt head for the belt stalk on the other side. So this about as far as I can go back, which isn't too bad as the gear stick gets a bit far away in 1st n 3rd at the next bolt hole. Also using the higher hole tilts the back rest back on a bit more of an angle.

I've got about 2 fingers worth of space between my head and the roof lining bow.

Im not that lofty so I see why yours needed adjusting and the one inch of foam has made all of the difference. They look very nice nows it's all done.
