Sad story (short version),

I seized my motor on my mini last night.. :o(

I cant work out what happened.. temp shot up and wheels locked all pretty quickly

I guess i will find out when i give her a post mortem.

does anyone have a cheap second hand engine in Perth WA??
i'm building a house and due to move in in about 4 weeks time.. so i dont have the time nor the money for a rebuild (if the casting is ok) at the moment

any help would be much appreciated

cheers
Andrew

they claim the second hand motors they have need rebuilding..

i'll pull mine down and see if its a compressed piston or a seized bearing before going down that path

Hey Andrew, I've got one in my spare Moke wreck, but am unsure of condition.
Would hate for you to go to the trouble of putting it in only to find it RS,
but you're welcome to it if you want.

It's (here) at my Naval Base workshop.

PS I drink Tooheys Extra Dry

i serviced it about 3 months ago. somethings happened with the water gallery on the head gasket is my bet.. she got hot very quick (less than a minute.. then wham ssccrrreeeeeeech.. wheels locked up)

theres plenty of oil in her.. (1mm below full) I have already meticulously gone through and fixed all of the oil leaks (new driveway)

but i think the head gasket has blown in a spectacular way and hydroliced a piston
