Hi all

I'm hoping to swap out my 2 pod instrument cluster for a 3 pod when I begin to put the clubby back together. Are there any complicated modifications required to do this?

as long as you have the 3 pod mounting bracket it should all fit the same, as the 3 pod bracket uses the same holes as the 2 pod. If your lucky you might have the " white " wires for the tacho already in the loom. But I'm not sure as to what year they included those wires in the stock loom.

Clubby tachos are rubbish now, after 40 years their needles jump all over the place. Weren't great even when new!
I would keep your 2 clock dash, and stick a decent tacho next to it. Like the AutoGage 2300 I just bought. $134 delivered.

It recently started behaving like a Clubby one. Nil damping, so effing useless.
Mind you, was fine until now, and it was only 43 years old... haha

I'll eBay it along with the matching speedo, temp acqua, benzina and press olio gauges.

Dr is spot on my clubby tacho bounces like a West Indian fast bowler !!!

My taco is fine, I've had it in there for about 8 years or so. I believe I may have had it serviced at a local instrument shop when I brought it. but I like it.
I modified a 2 pod mounting bracket to hold the 3 pod. You need to cut off the lower arms and cut n bend some more steel to hold the wider 3 pod base but the top mount is the same.

It amazes me that people give something a "name" because they had one that failed. God knows how much it had been mistreated in 40 odd years. There are plenty of good ones still around more than so called failed ones.

Slight problem...

Because the 3 pod doesn't have a speedo I'm going to use the speedo from the 2 pod. Unfortunately, the hole on the 3 pod housing is about 5mm smaller and the speedo mechanism won't fit through. Is there an issue if I (carefully) grind out a bigger hole to fit?





Any advice appreciated.
