yeah, everything looks spot on with the red car - like I said, looks pretty honest.

My initial thoughts on the money were that it was a bit steep for something that really could use a paint, but a paint job is cheap against a whole lot of rust repairs and mechanical work that the car doesn't need

Is that the car that Dave worked on and took down to Ron Williams?

and engine in two pack Sherwood Green?

Backing up what Greg said, another PO confirmed to me that the red car is a genuine Mark 1 S with original engine. Would be a good example for someone with skills and enthusiasm to return to it's original colour scheme.

As long as there's no obvious defects and everything works, they shouldn't question it too much as it's a tier 2 (verify ID numbers only) inspection.

When i get mine down from QLD it will also need a tier 2. I was going to see if the local cops will do it. Im about 40km from the CBD.

If you are 40kms out, you may just get away with it.
I took my "68 deluxe to Lonsdale and all they did was check that the numbers on the ID plate matched the engine number on the QLD rego papers and whether it was stolen or not (it wasn't!!)

Dave Perkins knows the history of this car back as far as about 30 years ago. It has always been a QLD car and the previous owner who had it for over 20 years worked with Dave. For any further info he may be helpful.
