Hey Wombat is that Mini running yet, or still a `work in progress'..?

After promising me every Tuesday I have off to work on it she still finds jobs that needs doing "now" or "would be nice to have finished by the weekend " before such and such. So NO it's not running yet

I get the majority of the stuff posted to work so I don't get in too much trouble.

Before we moved into our new place she never went in the garage so she never knew how much stuff was in there. Now I have to be a bit more careful and make sure it still all fits on the shelves..

One of my friends is into off-roading, I always get him to talk about it when my Mrs is there as it's a much more expensive hobby and it makes me look good!

And I don't even know how much money I spend on it, so the chances of anyone else knowing is pretty slim

"This old thing. Its been in the shed for ages"
ALL parts definitely come to work. The price of anything is at least 50% of what I really have spent.
A little white lie every now and then..........

I got the green light from my misses to finish off the project before our first Baby is due. I got to use our joint account. The couple of thousand dollars I put on it straight away have caused her to question my expenses. But when she got to go for her first cruise in it after 4 1/2 years she didn't care. She loves it.

the way I work it is let her buy her toys and what every she needs

funny how she is allowed to buy what every she needs, cause when its my turn it is never a problem

her latest toy has sunk a few dollars, but while the hatch was getting built I was building the Kombi (behind) so we are about even

If I bought the Mrs a Torana like that I'd be in the permanent good books, she'd love one!

My biggest problem is - because I can't drive (due to my vision) my fiance is the sole driver of the mini - so she notices every little upgrade I do (seriously EVERYTHING)

She's pretty good with most stuff I get atleast, but can't get away with much!

Here's something we could learn from the fairer sex.
A good mate's wife admitted to my wife how she would sneak new clothes and other things
into to the house so her husband wouldn't become annoyed with her purchases.
She would say offhandedly "Oh, I've had that on layby for ages." or she would acquire a new dress,
hide it in the wardrobe for awhile and when she wore it for the first time he'd growl "So much did that cost?"
She'd say "This old thing? I've had this thing for ages."
Seemed to work quite well.
So us men just need to take her lead and work out a male version of the above.

A whole car could be a problem but few parts should be doable.
The only real problem I see is.. Women are smarter at working a guy out and at what he's been
up to.
