Does anyone know the approximate cost of getting 2 mk1 bumper bars rechromed?

Thanks.

I get them done here in Brisbane through a local firm,
generally around the $350 mark (each) if there`s no work to be done prior to pollishing/chrome-ing (IE: straighten dents/rust/twisted etc) if there`s work to do to the bars to repair them then it costs more.

Matt

They're good, and I love them (especially the higher spec OEM type) but the ends aren't exactly the same as the originals. The folded edge is slightly different. The cheaper ones are cut off shear without the folded edge. So as expected it will be important to some.

As said above, the stainless bars are good replacements. The ones with folded over ends are about $160 each (depending on where you buy them) so much cheaper than repairing and chroming old ones. Available with nerf bar holes predrilled if they are for your Deluxe. A check of the Oz Mini suppliers online stores will confirm the price and show you pictures.

Matt, where do you go?

Not for the Mini (carbon fibre fixed that) but my Valiant needs some shiny bumpers...

Re chromed parts these days just look crap cause they cant use the same old day chemicals they used

The new bars look fantastic at my usual parts shop and half the price of re chroming

If I needed new bars I'd go new ones over re chrome

If your from Sydney and want to rechrome try All Metal Bumpers at Ingleburn I see them alot at car shows and swap meets flogging there chrome holden ford parts displays
