Does that mean I should keep mine and try and get them repaired ?
When did they switch to 3 screw?

UK cars used 3 screw. Also used here until 1967 approx, when Lucas Australia brought out the simplified 2 screw lamp.
They were available here until Lucas Australia stopped production.
You can still buy aftermarket 2 screw lenses, but these are inferior material to the Lucas originals- they go dull and fade quickly.

Do you really need the complete assembly, or just the lense?

They pop up on ebay. Good condition around $50. Excellent condition over $100. Some on there now. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 78&alt=web
Or ring around the mini specialists to pick up a S/H base and a new lense is $32 from here. http://www.classicmotoring.net.au/cmos/ ... Path=6_145

Someone we all know is in the process of having good quality 2 screw lens made, like the originals.

I agree. I paid around $150 a few years ago for one NOS base and lens in original packaging.

If your original Lucas ones are faded, but not crazed or cracked, they come up OK with retinting. I bought the stuff from autoBarn a while back.

Will they have Lucas Australia on them as like the originals?

How can they, legally, if they are not being made by Lucas Australia?

Will Lucas Australia complain?

Lucas Australia was sold off and would no longer be part of the surviving Lucas company.

I have one of each on my 1968 Mini Deluxe, Australian made. The three screw lens has made in England on it, the two screw has no maufacturer on it. Is my two screw lens original and the England made one not. ???
