The 850 mats are supposedly getting remade in Melbourne. Only grey & black at this stage made with the hammer tone finish as fitted to early 850s. I wouldn't take out the mats. They are so brittle & tear easy.

They reckon the cost will be $400 front & back. Trufit Melbourne reckons will start making them next year if he has a good example. He needs minimum order 20 sets to be purchased.

I bought 2 rubber boot mats off them which are black. My early 850 has grey rubber boot mat.

Note the tru fit rubber boot mat is close to the original one, only differences is the edges are smooth & shiny the whole way around the rubber boot mat. You can use sand paper 120 grit & rub around edges to make dull matt finish.

Thanks

That's great news Sports850Man. Looking forward to seeing them.

For the boot mats, did you find the ribbing was slightly different profile to the early originals?
Not that it matters, I just recall seeing a difference in mine.

We were at TruFit a year or so ago and they had a red rubber mat in the foyer (I assume 68AUTO's NOS one in this thread). When we asked about it they said they weren't able to do them. That's what we were told, not sure where it went from there.

Correct the ribbing is slightly different. They actually make the rubber boot mat a bit bigger Tru Fit told me because when it ages the rubber boot mat shrinks.

I just rang them now & they said more than happy to make, just need complete rubber mats, doesn't matter about cracks, splits or tears. Have to make mould quite difficult to reproduce. As stated need 20 sets.

Unfortunately I live in Sydney. If anyone has a set of rubber mats in Melbourne call in with your sample to Tru Fit.

Thanks

Any body have pictures they could post for those of us who weren't alive when originals came out! ;) I would like to stick some in my mini Matic 68 and if they only come out in grey or black then I suppose I could paint them with vinyl paint

This thread has started to get a bit confusing discussing both 850 and Deluxe/Matic mats :)

See top page 3 in this thread for photos of blue Matic mats as yours would have had. These came out in many different colours (red, blue, green, mustard...)

See of page 4 for photos of 850 mats, which only came black/grey.
There are apparently different types, but I'm not sure on the details myself. The ones on page 4 have speckled paint on them.

Putting it out there again. Would anyone out there like to depart with their vinyl mats for a mini deluxe. Mine are quite serviceable but a bit worn. Wlling to pay good dollars for the rght condition.
