I ended up going with A008's.

For the little bit of improvement I'd get, I can't afford to be replacing tyres every 1 and a bit years!.

With the 6x10's, still should look nice and phat. 8) 8) 8)

A032Rs are no wider; if you want the wide look, the Dunlop 165/70R10 FORMULA-R D93J if still available look better and work well. But wear pretty quick, too.

Well, I realise that the 32's are not technically wider, but the tread pattern seemed to make it appear wider. But the A008's I'm sure will suffice. What are you currently using Kevin?

I'm running A008s, because the car was primarily a daily driver. But as it's now just a club car, if I needed new ones I'd go the 32Rs or Dunlops and crank some camber in. But they ain't worn out yet. :)

Running a 3.64 diff, I have traction problems in 1st gear from 5000 rpm up, so shortly the spare Mk2S box is going in it with a 3.44 diff.

[edit] here's what the Dunlops look like-

Oh yeah I see, they are 5mm wider across the tread. Any idea on price? They'd be good for a club car like yours. I'd just chew through them too quick

Price was similar to A032Rs a while ago.
Email or ring Garys Motorsport Tyres and ask em.

If anyone happens to be replacing there a008s or 032r tyres, rather than leave them at the tyre shop, take them home and let me know. I can finish them off in motorkhanas. I'm always needing more. :D

Cheers
Aaron

on a somewhat related note, how much grippier are a008s over a539s? if at all? are they just more readily available in australia?

The A539 is for 12 & 13" wheels and not 10" as far as I can tell

A539 is a good 12" tyre for wet & dry road use. Sadly, Yoko Oz don't bring them in now but you can still get from UK.
If you want the motorsport one instead, it's A048R.

have you considered Dunlop Formula R, I have been running them for years now, I have done about 15,000 and they are about half worn front and about 20% worn on the rear and traction with over 180hp is very good IMO.

That seems pretty good for Formula R's - I've never used or even seen them, but '5000kms' seems to be the number quoted when talking about longevity.

On full lock they rub a little.

Will fit the center caps tonight

Yeah the tread is still under the flares. My flares are actually quite wide. I think they're fiberglass copies of the mk2s wide flares
