Can you make the caliper mounting brackets out of 10mm thick mild steel ?
The drawing l have says 8mm thick steel. The reason l am asking is because l may be able to get some sets made as a training exercise for the students at the Tafe where l work and they only have 6mm or 10mm thick mild steel

Yes you can get 8mm. I bought 130x8 flat bar from Bohler Steel.
Actually 8mm is a bit thick- the ones I did for kazjim I had to mill back to 7mm, where the caliper bolts on.
