Hi guys,

A while back I did the steering rack in my car and I wrote a how to guide on it if some of you are to reference it. Obviously, if you choose to attempt it, it is at your own risk so don't come crying to me.

I hope some of you out there find it useful! How to remove your steering rack

Enjoy!

Nice work - Thanks for that.

Bit slow making it into the How to section, Maybe it was getting vetted.

No worries mate. Hopefully it helps someone out. I wrote the how to in two sections because I was called away for work and also had to wait on parts as I rebuilt the rack that I pulled out.

I knew it was an involved process - but that's an eye opener. I was thinking of inspecting my rack soon - might just wait until I'm taking the engine out!

Thanks for the guide, I'm sure it will be invaluable.

Fairly well documented for someone who knows what they are doing...Thanks

I would like to have seen something on pinch bolt inspection/installation, spline inspection (both pinion and column clamp) and a little about rack centring/locating.

I've done a couple and I don't ever want to do another! A hoist would make the job so much easier.
